HEALTH POLICY

With advances in technology, new investigative and correctional procedures combined with the aging of the Western Australian population, it is necessary to reduce the burden of healthcare on the tax payer, so that a full comprehensive medical service network can effectively cover all Australian citizens.

The AUSTRALIAN PROTECTIONIST PARTY WA (INC) Proposes:

[1] A considerable upgrade of regional healthcare facilities.

[2] The streamlining of administration in hospitals. Reconstituting of community management in regional hospitals encourages community involvement in the provision of auxiliary services and providing jobs.

[3] Increased funding for disability home facilities.

[4] Free hospital care for essential treatment, for Australian citizens.

[5] Free basic dental care for all Australian citizens.

[6] Training more doctors and surgeons.

[7] Training of enrolled nurses in teaching hospitals.

[8] Hospitals would be encouraged to employ medical staff rather than contracting them.

[9] Bring back the Commonwealth Serum Laboratories as a way of reducing costs of medicine and improving the nations' preparedness.

[10] The AUSTRALIAN PROTECTIONIST PARTY WA (INC) believes it is preferable for people to remain in their family home as they move into older age rather moving into nursing homes and would increase funding to facilitate that goal.
