Loss of Sovereignty
      Prime Minister Kevin Rudd wants Australia to become part of a multi-national "Asia-Pacific Community", like the "European Union".
      However, European nations in the EU have been denied the right to make and uphold their own laws reflecting their local cultural traditions because of dictates from the Brussels Parliament.
      Since much of Asia is Muslim, will Australia have to subjugate it's traditions, following appeals to a regional Asia-Pacific Parliament to recognise polygamy, Sharia Law, and Islamic dictates?

Loss of Employment
Can unions ensure the protection of Australian jobs and working conditions when companies have open borders to import labour, exploit cheaper labour or move their operations overseas?

Foreign Takeovers
Regional superpower China is already raiding Australian mining companies and has it's sights set on Australian farms. A regional Union, bound by uniform laws will mean a reduction in Australia's ability to restrict foreign takeovers of local companies.

Environmental Degradation
Open borders will mean a massive influx of immigrants into a country environmentalists believe is already overpopulated. The Murray-Darling is

already in crisis and our farmers have reduced water allocations with which to grow our food. Can a continent like ours properly and sustainably support millions more?

Biological Integrity
      Australia's farmers pride themselves on providing the Australian people and international customers with quality goods produced under "clean, green" conditions.
      Recently, Australia's primary producers have had to battle against legal action and international appeals by foreign producers to lower quarantine regulations and import quotas.
      Under a regional Union, Australia's sovereignty will be undermined and foreign produce will flood into our country, bringing in fire-blight, citrus canker, black sigatoka and moko diseases - to name a few.

Solution: Let our politicians know Australians will not follow the same fate as those in Europe. Protect the welfare of future generations of Australians by respecting the independence of all nations in our region - and that includes our own.
