Immigration visa standards gone to the "Doggs"

Media release

Australian Protectionist Party National Chairman and South Australian Spokesman Mr. Andrew Phillips today condemned the recent move by the Immigration Department to overturn the ban on "rap performer" Snoop Dogg allowing him to enter Australia to perform.

"This so-called "artist" has been refused entry into our country in the past based on his character, yet the current government seems content to show it's lack of standards by allowing Dogg into the country to spread his message of violence and hatred" Mr.Phillips said.

The Australian Protectionist Party supports the right of freedom of expression. However, government has a duty of care to the Australian public to ensure our standards and cultural traditions are promoted and those in our society most easily influenced are protected from the messages of the socially maladjusted.

"Snoop Dogg has spent his entire career promoting messages of mindless violence, hatred, drug abuse and the abuse of women" Mr. Phillips continued "At a time when one witnesses an increase in the incidence of club violence, assaults in our schools and the stupid replication of American gang "culture" in our own society, one can only wonder at the motivation of the Rudd government to allow such a person into our country".
